Probably a 427 SMALL block in that Malibu. It's running strong too. Was surprised to not see the common signature "twisted pretzel launches" those cars inherently do.
By its status at top end, I would say it has a ladder rear suspension.
. Believe it or not it is a leaf spring conversion with caltracs.. typically 60 foot better than my car although it is a 3 speed which I'm sure helps
