Fred Flintstone ........... " Rackem frackem " !!
The saga just gets better.
All I needed was the drive shaft to finish up...........swapped to a 9 " and added Cal Tracs , did some under hood stuff.
Had Strange build me a driveshaft.
I had the wife help me measure , since the kid who usually helps me with the car was working and I wanted to get the dimension to Strange so I would have the car ready for the following week end.
This involved paying 240.00 for next day shipping , but I wanted it bad.
Back to the 50's week end is a huge car deal up here and I wanted to shake it down with a couple miles on the street.
Well , the drive shaft got here in plenty of time.
But was 1/2 " too long.
Yeah.
We measured three times , but there obviously was a communication gap in where she should be holding her end of the tape.
Back to Strange it goes.
They cut it and rebalance it.
I get it in the car , top off fluids and go to fire it up.
My bad here.........the top bolt on the starter must have vibrated itself loose some time in it's past running state.
She kicked back once and now , sounded very different.
It hadn't fired , but was threatening to.
I get under her , to find that the starter snout has gone three piece on me.
On Friday evening at 5:30 or so.
I'm not going to find a high torque starter anywhere in town on this short of a notice.
So it will be here Monday.
I was hoping this day would be here a month ago , and now I am so close I can taste it.
Barring any more shenanigans , I should have a time slip in the very near future.
The curiosity is weighing heavier than the anticipation.
