Well, hey, Griz, long time, no hear from.
I have read numerous places about the factory air cleaner being very restrictive and the arguments about cold air intakes vs. open air elements. Being as I had one available for less than $10, I thought I would give it a try. Very noticeable seat-of-the-pants difference but as I said, no idea about the effect on fuel mileage since the new hasn't worn off yet.
If you recall, most musclecars used under hood air and did OK with it.
BTW, I have a factory air cleaner assy. from my '06 2500 Cummins if you really want it. I installed a BHAF just for grins (actually picked up 1 mpg) but traded the truck for the wife's first Challenger before I could see how many miles the filter would go between changes.
