A friend of mine has 6 or 8 early(1961 and later Dodge D500 and larger trucks to use on his farm, I've owned and used several pre 1961 D300 and a D500 as car haulers before buying and converting a 1973 Ford 1 ton pickup four door single wheel to a car hauler with dual wheels in the back and stretching the stock frame five feet and adding a 12 Ft flatbed with a 30 inch dovetail sloped down around 30 degrees for loading it easier. That was a really good truck, better than the Dodges, DANG IT
I ended up selling it and switched to a Class A motor home with a 24 Ft. enclosed car trailer after having the truck tool boxes broken into and stripped at a motel in Phoenix, AZ
