My.02 worth
One of the earliest builds I did was a 426 for my friend Clayton, we ran stock rockers, shafts and hold downs off a 2012 5.7 we banana grooved the rockers shafts, drilled the oiling holes larger and end milled each rocker so there were” square ” and also used a roller thrust washer between the stock hold downs and rocker edge. used a Howards cam Lift: .625 Intake .600 exhaust. hydro cam that we ran modified solid BBM lifters on, spent about 10 hours getting all 16 where we wanted them, milled lash caps till we got everything as close as we could.
.,1st lash was set to .008/.012, . Did 1100 miles and 30 runs , tore it down for examination, changed the timing set up and Cam, 2nd cam was grind to the same specs as the Howards but now was a VVT core changed lash to .003/005 . then did another 4400 street miles with about 30 runs, on the 2nd lash, pulled it apart to check on wear and tear, and found all 8 intake rockers had discolored tips, but not burnt. He stepped up to Stanke Shafts Collars and Hold downs Cam was changed to a custom Comp cams grind Lift .654 intake .633 Exhaust again Hydro cam with solid lifters, lash is set at .003/.003 have about 2k miles on this set up so far, did 6 Runs at Atco yesterday he shifts 1st to 2nd at 6900 then 74/7500. went an average of 10.10 this past weekend at 132(I think it was 132)

My 2014 when I had the 428 in it, I ran a comp cam 274 .619/.612, ran Johnson Hylifts for 9k mile, then switched over to shimmed “hellcat lifter” for the last 13kmiles lash set at .003/003. Stockers no issues. Keep in mind the stock truck intake wouldn’t let me get over 6900RPMs, switched to the Edelbrock 6.1 style…same thing…. Drag pak was a too much of a hassle so I can’t say I pushed it hard.

This 428 is now in my Niece Taylor’s 2014 Ram, with new G3 lifters. BGE heads a Ritter intake but have no real world feedback yet.
My Niece Caroline’s 426 G3 hemi we ran a.008 lash on the intake side and .010 on the exhaust side, Iron 6.1 block, Apache heads, stock G3 rockers, modified BBM solid lifters Howards .600/.600 HR cam, lash caps and custom length Smith bros Pushrods, stock shafts that we banana grooved, stock hold downs with Stanke Collars did 2500 on the .08/010 lash then tighten everything up to .003/005. She has 15k on it, she drives spiritedly but doesn’t wring it out unless she’s at Maple Grove or Island. Her Challenger is a low 11’s high 10’s there’s more in it but she’s happy where she is.

My opinion if your going to keep it under 7k at least get collars, if your going 7k-7700ish get some shafts/hold downs/collars and have some fun, also some of these rockers can be uneven on the ends, check them.

Also another for what it’s worth, one of the guys who works here, has a 05 Magnum which is his daily driver,392in 5.7 build he has had a set of the PRW PQX roller tip rockers on this thing since mid-2013 the 1st set broke a roller tip after about 1k , PRW was quick to replace the set , and the 2nd set has gone 40k rans a Comp Cams 273 for about 35k of the 40 now has a Green racing cam , 590/580 , He also has another 05 maggy with a 2014 Charger clip that he runs in the Hemi Shoot out stuff, 389CI Darton 6.1(4.155X3.59) constantly in the 8k range ,stock DLC coated shafts , Manton collars and hold downs , with a set of the PRWs
Bad thing about those PRW rockers is open load is only 450lbs.
