I wasn't sure what to expect when I switched valve bodies and no longer had engine braking. Turns out for me it wasn't strange at all, since I normally drive a manual trans car and usually put it in neutral as I approach a stop at low speed. The coasting sensation w/o 1st-gear engine braking feels pretty much the same.
