I am contemplating a change of cylinder heads on my HEMI. The valve guides on the MP heads have gone away. My intake valves show the tell tale carbon build up with oil on the valve stems.
I would like to step up the performance while curing the soft valve guides. Having lost an intake guide while driving on the street, I am hesitant to just rebuild the MP heads.
The Edelbrock head presents a problem. Their tech says that a 4.350 bore is the minimum that the intake valve will clear.
Stage V looks good but their add says that the intake port is "larger than stock" Edelbrock lists a 245 intake, what is the stock intake volume? Stage V says that "street" porting is required. What is needed for a street only 540" HEMI with tight converter, Gear Vendor overdrive and 4,150Lb street car? Do Stage V have to be ported to run?
