My 408 Magnum build:

10.2 compression (kept it low - street car... probably should have gone up to 10.7 or so, but oh well). Past 11 and you'll be on race fuel.

This is a pretty aggressive cam for what it was intended for (torque - street car). I am running what equates to about an 800cfm Pro Form. carb. You'd want much more than that if you are taking the car to the strip. My motor is 480 hp, 500 tq. I could probably get more out of it with another carb - but I'm happy with it on the street. My peak hp was at about 5,800 rpm.
