I did it a lot back in the dirt track racing days, rules required a 2bbl carb, but the 4bbl intakes flowed a little better.

In a stock configuration, your going to loose the choke, and the throttle and trans rods will both need to be modified to fit and function correctly. You might also loose the effectiveness of the lean burn carb because the air flow through the intake will change with the additional height, and the fuel temps may also be a cooler with the aluminum intake. It might not make a difference, but I'm betting it will. Maybe the carb can adjust, or be adjusted, but how will the lean burn function be effected?
Sounds like a lot of additional work and variables to save a little weight on an intake swap. Gene
