So i dug my old 451 out and tore it down to see whats up.

Its going to need one piston (ross dome) due to the smallest of pinched ring land, rings and a hone job.

Question, do i need to haul it down to the machine shop for a torque plate hone or can i achieve good ring seal with an at home hone job? the motor had about 100 or less passes about 1/2 with heavy nitrous so the rings just gave out.

If i fire it up and it huffs and puffs like a cho-cho train I'll be pissed, but i don't have any money to waste ether.

all opinions accepted, thanks.

8sec. street car, been there done that. Quitting when your ahead isn't the same as quitting.
