A lot of the older NHRA stock class Ford racers would let the clutch out at or under 3000 RPM and then hit the throttle all the way on the old bias ply slicks, that may or may not work on a radial
You hear a lot about the limited tire racers using trans brake on small radial, I'm sure they are managing, limiting, power at the hit to get them to go as fast as they are now
If they can do it with trans brakes you should be able to do that also
