Unfortunately when you go to sell that car people will get all twisted up, contorted, and maybe have seizures when they find out you put a bad year, off year, or whatever they call it block in it. Because that matters a lot. Just talk to joe average. He’ll tell you. Can’t do that. Not allowed. Against rules. Nope.

Agreed. If resale is a concern some guys get their panties in a twist over things like having a 'date coded' block. To me either you have the original engine or not but some guys see value in having the right year of engine. Beyond that, the later blocks are slightly preferable to me. I have a spare 76 440 I keep under the bench.
