I'd want the dual plane except for all the work this dual plane would entail. I would try a carb spacer if you have the room & yes adv the cam/dial in the dist. I'm thinking the actual SCR (if OE unrebuilt) might be in the high 7's/the truck is heavy. Here's a BTT for ya.
