From what I have read on line it is the overdrive clutch snap ring. It is a seven dollar part that cost seven hundred dollars to replace. I guess it is a common problem,which can be repaired by removing the overdrive unit from the transmission, I read that if this is not done correctly,then the spring in there can take your head off and damage the piston too.
