I think Ron's (383man) old combo is about as good of an example as you could find.
Thank you for the kind words. I was thinking the same as I did all the work myself other then the block machine work and the milling of the heads.
It was a .030 over 440 with stock crank and recon stock rods. I used KB Quench pad pistons with the 906 heads I used that I ported myself. Comp was at 10.0. Ran the MP .557 cam and Isky iron rockers. Holley Street Dominator intake and a Holley 850 DP. Mallory dist and the MP orange ECU. Hedman 1-3/4 headers and 3" exh. 727 with a 9.5 converter and 4.30's on a 30 x 9 tire. I had under 7k in it as other then parts and machine work I did all the work myself which saved much money.
Best et was 11.49 @ 116 on SS springs and 3725 lbs in my 63 Sport Fury. And that was through the exh on pump. Normally ran 11.50's to 11.80's depending on weather. Ron
