Just center the housing and use the 8-3/4 axels, done. Every housing I ever cut down was centered, NEVER a problem. Depending on the tires (slicks), will be how long the 8-3/4 axels last, street car, do it. Only problem with Dana, limited gear choice, no 2.76 ratio.  Who would really want a 2.76 ratio in a Dana 60 when the 3.0? ratio is available in the Dana 61  A turbo car would like the 3:00 gear.
