Maybe, depends on how thick it is. I'd have to see the design before I knew which material would work. The bolts are going to transmit the torque, not the spacer so aluminum should be fine. Only problem is if the spacer is fairly thick since then the flywheel could start to whip around. If the spacer is less than 1/2 inch thick then I think aluminum would be fine.




I haven't received the Mid plate yet to measure thickness. But it should be right around .375" We are turning this piece on a lathe, so there shouldn't be any reason for it to be off centered and cause harmonic problems.

Thanks for your input. My engine machinst is worried about the aluminum. Strength wise and the difference in expansion rates? Will this be an issue?
