Corvettes are engineered to be glass from day one, so they can add reinforcements and tweak the shapes to minimize the bending. Lightweight race parts aren't concerned with it. The "street" parts are usually just reinforced around the hinges and hood catches, but they can't do much for the overall shape of the hood after the fact. twocents
