Power for the tail and instrument lamps is a separate feed than the headlights. It comes from the fuse box on a pink wire to the headlight switch. It comes out of the switch on a black wire and goes to the body connector and then onto the taillights, license lamp. the same terminal on the H/L switch also feeds the instrument lights via the panel dimmer.
