I'm assuming you bought a quart of the 440 orange, which is PPG Deltron DAR, correct? If so, you'll need to reduce the paint using the instructions in the PPG "P-Sheet", which can be viewed at the attached link:

However, Frank recommends not using hardener with his engine paints because it will increase the gloss level. Frank sprays his engines without hardener and lets the heating cycle during starting cure the paint. If you do this, the resulting gloss level will be very close to the actual gloss on assembly line painted engines.
