I agree. It is a somewhat easy fix and The part is fairly inexpensive. If I remember correctly it was $25 Canadian from RockAuto so much cheaper for you guys. The starter needs to be partially removed to put it on. Best thing to do is start with the cheapest fix first but looking at the DTC, it seems probable that it is the crankshaft position sensor.
