I'm pretty sure it was a pistol grip hurst shifter. The guy took off the pistol grip and put on a hurst T-handle. I think it's the reverse rod that's scraping. It all just looks way to close to the frame - but I have no reference to know what it should look like. I've been doing other work on the car, so it's not in the best position to look at right now. Hopefully it will be running again in the next day or two and I can get it out of my cramped garage space so I can get under it to remove the trans mount.

I thought maybe it could be the rod upside down (can't see right now), but the guy I got it from and his brother are very mechanically inclined and I don't think they would do that.
