I went to dinner with my friend who has the Firebird last night and mentioned that comment.

We got a good chuckle out of it.

The only "trick" part in that motor is the Schubeck lifters.

Many of the mid-pack old school stocker combos are prime examples of just how important getting the combination sorted out is.

So this man has been racing 4 speed Pontiac GTO and Firebirds in stock eliminator for over a dozen years .600-.991under the index cars yarding the tires 3 feet in the air, and nothing special done to his cars? Now I'm getting a good chuckle.

I have great respect for the people in stock and the amount of work and money put into the cars.

If it was easy to go .990 under everyone would do it.
