It is in fact slightly shorter, about 1/4." the curve lessens the clearance as it contacts the pan before the outboard part of the idler arm can get full swing. If it were straightened , it would have more clearance.

All the suspension is factory "Spec" as far as fit, form, function.


Yea, but you are running the Milodon wide road race pan. Idlers get close and many times contact that pan depending how the aftermarket decides to change their parts. And a buildup of factory clearances. That aftermarket part might fit a stock pan.

The aftermarket Moog and TRW idler and pitman from 25 years ago does not look like the some other house or off brands today. And in cases the Moog and TRW has changed.
