Yep the steel bell has the holes but they are smaller for the original application which was a max wedge so they need to be drilled out larger and tapped for the A-Body bracket bolts. The picture above shows the max wedge ballstud.
The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.
