A lot of the problems on the early Mopar amp gauges where caused by loose inner nuts on the amp gauge causing a hi restitent connection Tighten rascal up and remove any corrosion on the wire ends and the nuts and be happy, you should also check for corrosion on the bulhead connections and correct as needed
