Nothing sux worse than being in the middle of a job and realizing you need a "shop supply" type of thing, or worse yet assuming you have it and finding out you don't, BTDT and sending my wife/daughter to fetch it usually ends up bad.

Short example, was working on a turbo voyager and needed a short bit of EFI rated fuel line, a foot was more than enough. I was all slobbered up and had plenty to otherwise do so I asked my oldest daughter to make a parts run for me, wrote down what to get, specifically fuel injection rated fuel hose, gave the SAE spec number and told her that it's probably behind the counter, just hand the note tot eh clerk. She came home with carb hose.

I got cleaned up, went to the parts store had her point out the clerk and ripped him a new one, he was the manager too. I was a bit irritated. That was the last time I sent anyone else to run parts for me, not blaming her but she didn't know what I needed and apparently the clerks can't read english.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.
