I'm going to post a couple of pictures of the block - this block and the current aluminum crate motor block (that was at SEMA) are not the same. I had not heard of any changes being made to the aluminum block - maybe someone can chime in.... the newer block has an X pattern set of stiffening ribs in the valley area that mine does not have
