FWIW, I didn't see your suggestion before I posted mine shortly after you did yours.

I agree that the combination described by the OP would work OK w/ the 1.45" v "950", but it's also similar to what I used to have when my car ran 11.0s w/ a Holley "950" HP (1.38" v). That smaller venturi, like the Q-850 has, is super responsive on the street, especially w/ limited gear & converter stall.
