Hi all,
I seem to recall reading about this topic in the recent past, but couldn't find anything using the search feature. My engine re-builder installed a new cam in my 225, slant 6. He is recommending I add a bottle of camshaft break-in lube (such as Comp or Lucas), with a zinc additive, every time I change oil from here on out. His reasoning is that modern oils aren't formulated with zinc to guard against wear, and that most modern engines use roller camshafts, with less valve spring pressure, and don't require it. Just wondering what the prevailing opinion is. As always, thanks very much for all replies.
