I Wrapped the cable with a heat resistant insulation and bent the trans bracket a little to clear the header and starter.
So far lots of street miles this Spring and it works perfectly!
It takes some getting used to as 1-2 is a normal shift and 2-3 requires you to pull the trigger. Release the trigger after 2-3 shift and it goes easily into neutral. It's almost impossible to miss a shift!
