Uncertain of the validity of the theory...It's a fact - not a theory - sogtx and I determined the fact while tuning six paks with a wide band A-f meter.
You guys have poor information retention and document nothing, let alone know how to search for something...But go ahead run that 160/180 thermostat because in 1970 that's what worked and nothing has changed since 1970 in gasoline formulation. There was another post a few wks ago about operating temps and no one gave the right info...good thing this place is free. Ok now back to wild speculation based on old outdated info.
