More than once I have read that six pack equipped engines should use a 190 degree thermostat to lessen the chance that raw fuel will 'pool' on the floor of the intake manifold. Uncertain of the validity of the theory, does sound reasonable, likely no downside so I do follow this advice.
Uncertain of the validity of the theory...It's a fact - not a theory - sogtx and I determined the fact while tuning six paks with a wide band A-f meter.
You guys have poor information retention and document nothing, let alone know how to search for something...But go ahead run that 160/180 thermostat because in 1970 that's what worked and nothing has changed since 1970 in gasoline formulation. There was another post a few wks ago about operating temps and no one gave the right info...good thing this place is free. Ok now back to wild speculation based on old outdated info.
