NTOLERANCE - I think most people would welcome the knowledge of what you used. I would, please post it.
I'll post it, but only because you asked
I received this info years ago, and tried it in two mopar big blocks with oem cast iron heads. I havent tried them in aluminum heads, so youre going into uncharted ground there... I was talking to an old time engine builder named Don Dulmage. Google his name, he has a web site. He is retired now, but this is the info he sent me:
For more header room around your spark plugs on your BB Mopar we often use Autolite 2974. Heat range and tip is perfect for these engines and they are barley 1 1/2 " long. Don't ask what they are for, (Does the word lawnmower bear any significance?) just use and enjoy! We have also used the Bosch although the crossover number escapes me at the moment. Very good plugs though.
I didnt beleive it myself, but a friend of mine had some headders on a big block truck so we tried them, worked fine. Put them on another car with headders no problems. These werent race only vehicles, more street cars. I would run a whole set, not just a plug or two.
Give it a try.
Doc.
(ducking incase people throw useless chevy parts at me)
I used to care but....... things have changed
