I thought the 4.80 was the largest diameter That is why I was confused. I figured the 4.80" diameter would be a no-brainer to offer in a blowproof housing. I could see an adapter to go down to the smaller size. But start at 5.125" diamter? Maybe the 5.125" bearing retainer offers additional strenght? I prefer to run the transmission I have as is. So if there is an adapter to go from 5.125" dia to 4.80" dia then I am OK. I normally deal with stock or close to stock engine builds. The new hemi isn't close to stock and will make power (on paper anyways) up to 7000rpm.
