..... I put five test hits on my new combo last weekend and four of those passes the shifter (Cheeta scs) made the 1-2 shift on it's own.

....and "IF" you keep the torqueflight you could go with a clean neutral valve body. That would require a new shifter too, but it sounds like you're in the market anyways.
