Thanks Myron for your insight, and I appreciate the help of a champion. The heads have not been ported, and I don't plan to. They came off an Aspen "stocker", and have Isky springs on them now, for a stocker cam. The valves that are in it use single groove locks, so I don't know if they're stock or not. I am not an engine builder by any stretch of the imagination, nor do I claim to be. I really wanted to see what I could put together with the parts I have acquired over the years. This engine is going in a Dakota, and is not intended to set national records, but be legal to run local Stock/Super Stock meets. I guess another option is to try and find a "stocker" cam and lifters for a 360, but I have the new roller, and it would be legal for SS, so I thought I'd use it. Plus I have always had a good working relationship with Crane, so I wanted to stay loyal to them.
Anyway, I'm going to take what you said into consideration, and check out the ideas you gave me.
