Hate to be negative here but it looks like it will flex since one of its purposes was to tie the frame together. Are you still using the stock steering? That steering box will move with no more support than shown, maybe consider using a r&p. I'm all for saving weight too but the k-frame is a critcal support of the car and components. Flex at speed gets scary real fast.
That was one of my concerns too. It's one of the reasons I left all the flange lips in place. Stock steering for now. I may add another brace to tie steering box plate in a little better. I will be keeping a close eye on it all.
