The bars are rarely the same size. Proper sizing depends on the spring weights, weight of the car, balance of the car, and a few other things.

In general, the rear bar will be significantly smaller than the front to promote a more controllable understeer at the limit.

I used a factory 7/8" bar on the front of the hot rod and a 3/4" bar on the rear. It handled fairly well.
