The previous owner of my little black Dakota raced it with the supercharger for about 5 years. I would hear that thing ping the entire pass… and it kept going. Later I bought the truck and put a turbo on it. I got it into the 10's at factory weight and with the factory bottom end and "hecho en Mexico" pistons. When I decided to "retire" it before grenading it with even more boost, I tore it apart. Every single skirt was broken off both sides of every single piston, and it kept running. It had obviously been broken for awhile - because when I pulled the pan off there were no piston chunks in the bottom. Sometimes things surprise me. Hehehe
