First the bearing is held to the steering shaft by a c clip, the bearing is held to the steering column by a bearing retainer, and the bearing retainer is screwed the column shaft by j type bolts.

If you pull the steering wheel you will see some small nuts attached to a bolt. Position these so the steering shaft doesn't move and tighten up the nuts.

Never pull on a steering column when moving a car. DAMHIK!
