Picked up our Barracuda from Jerry Bickels yesterday, You might remember I posted how after I had Front K-Member and Rack and Steering Column updated at at Andy McCoys Race Cars in Washington MO. after 3 total soft runs my complete front Strut/Wheel broke off mid-track causing as expected alot of damage, Luckily I was able to get car out to Jerry Bickels Chassis shop and before car was off trailer Mr.Bickel and 2 of his chassis builders seen the problem, as did a few of the Moparts Members pointed out, The front bracket that held lower control arm was not right which gave about 2in of up and down travel and if jam nut was actually tighened there was zero travel, this put strut in a bind and along with McCoys torquing main strut bolt to 125lb caused strut bolt to break. McCoys also installed a shop made control arm that in no way was recommened By Chris Alston/Vari Shock,
Of course after all said and done Jerry Bickels did make all necessary repairs to chassis and had strut rebuilt and cost was way under what I was expecting.
So Please if your thinking about having a chassis repaired or built get it done right the first time give Bickels a call.
