What's different about the syncros in an 833 from those in a T-56?

Tremec told me to run ATF3 in my T-56

The 833 is traditional brass ring, single friction surface. The brass rings have grooves in them to ride on the cones of the speed gears and the rings cut through the oil film and speed match the gear when selected to.
The T56 uses a a fiber type friction material on everything except reverse. Similar in appearence/theory of operation to the clutch plate friction material in an automatic transmission. The thin ATF flows better and the friction material pushes it out the way when selected to.
