Agree. The parts book indicates two knobs with an Oct (?) change over but I think it was actually later.

The actual transition time depends on the plant (LR, Hamtramck, STL, and LA). Some cars I've seen with January (1969) SPDs have the chrome and some have wood. Generally Sept-Jan a chrome would be OK. Jan or later, wood is probably OK.

Daytonas seem to be the exception, not the norm.
