I wouldn't put any Mopar Purple shaft H.P. brand camshaft in any Mopar V8 under any conditions, degreed or not That being said most Mopar enthusiast(SP?) that buy and use those cams do align the dots and then go from thier Not good All replacement cams should be degreed in and then advanced (per the cam makers suggestions ) to get the best perforamnce out of that cam I'm going to assume that the car has power brakes, yes or no? If so then a lot smaller cam should and probally will work a lot better in that motor in that car
