You would think, but many cases of painted/oversprayed distributor bases on originals.
Which brings up the question of; was the engine paint touched up over the years or was the over spray original?
I know of a 67 273 Commando that it is highly unlikely that it has ever been touched, but I wasn't there all 47 years. And I have a 69 that I believe to be original from a 340. Enough on that back to topic.
