Why wouldn't one just use the 4 hole pad for mounting the U bolts like in a typical application?



And wouldn't these be the "better" variety to use using the typical U bolts for the axle over leaf spring setup? As opposed to the universal bars that just clamp around the leaf spring.




The J-bolt, as its called is used to set your air gap / preload into the suspension. I actually have a set of those I think I will modify for the right length and give a shot. I bought them from a friend of mine. On his Super Bee, he said they worked great. On his Dart he couldn't get them to work as well. It is just going to take some experimantation to get something to work though.




So do these not hold the axle and spring pack together? If you adjust the J bolt for space on the front, wouldn't that make the clamping of the spring to the axle a bit loose?
