Gaskets are made to seal. I dont know why everyone thinks you need to use sealer on a gasket, which purpose in the first place is to seal the component! Using a Hi Tack product is fine, if you need to hold something in place, lets say for future removal etc.

Let the gaskets do their job, as a gasket. Small and minor imperfections can use a tiny dab of sealer, but I hardly use any sealers on any engine I build. The gaskets are there for a reason. If they leak, then the surfaces are warped, not cleaned, pitted, offset and so forth.
Blue, black, grey and red silicone in your oil pan is never a good thing.

Buy good gaskets, dont over torque them, make sure surfaces are clean, and all is well...

Use MoPar RTV black in the corners of the valley pan, and the gorilla snot is available at every parts store if you need to hold a gasket in place for assembly (you can just use a small dab of RTV as well). If I don't have the MoPar stuff the Permatex RTV black works okay.

Don't use the RTV red or blue, they're for Chevrolet and Ford engines, respectively. MoPars get black.
