I was talking to a vendor at carlisle last week who was selling a 340 crank. I was not looking for one, but buying other engine parts he had, and I asked about a crankshaft that he had sitting there. He cautioned me that it was a marine crank that had reverse rotation and went on to show me the oil "grooves" if you will, for the rear main seal were cut in the oppisite direction compared to an automotive application. I was quite interested in what he had to say do to the fact that I never knew that there was a 340 marine engine. He seemed quite knowledgeable on the mopar marine engines.
