What other tools do you guys use to diagnose cooling problems?

A 6" section of metal rad hose spacer with the rolled edges on the end for $9.95 from www.speedwaymotors.com & drill a hole & add a tire valve stem then with 2 piece of junk rad hose install this setup in place of the top rad hose & pump it up to 15 lbs & see if it holds. Done when hot & let it sit overnight if need be to check the pressure drop. If it is leaking it could be to the outside or internally & to see if it's leaking into the combustion chamber (as you know it's the other way around the CC leakes into the cooling system)I take off the stat housing/stat/fanbelt & with the coolant to the neck of the rim start the eng & let it idle from cold & gun the eng repeatedly for a minute & see if it starts to geyser up or show bubbles. If the impeller ain't turning there should be a dead calm with no turbulence unless combustion gasses are getting by the head gasket/cracked head/block. Yes I want to get a temp gun. Thanks for the reminder Feets. How'd things turn out with your neighbors from Hell
