A friend og mine has an original 66 Hemi-Charger. The current Hemi-engine is a 1965 model, with heads from 1968. The engine has the original mechanical flat tappet cam.
According to the service manual the exhaust valve clearance is supposed to be .032, intake .028
These gaps seem fairly big, and they seem to create a noisy valve train. Are these gaps normal and is the valve train normally noisy? Can anything be done to the noise?
